About Team Maverick
Doublehanded racing is one of the fastest growing disciplines in offshore sailing, often a strong separate class in regattas and frequently on the podium in mixed crewed/shorthanded offshore races.
During the last five years an international group of shorthanded sailors comprising ‘Team Maverick’ have established a winning record on the water as well as an established following off the water and through social media. The team is enjoying a successful second season on the J-120 'Maverick'.
Building on Past Success
Our Team has captured a number of top prizes in recent campaigns, with a unique season format that includes the Dutch doublehanded series as well as participation in the Royal Offshore Racing Club (RORC) series. We are based in Scheveningen, Holland for the first half of the season, and from July through early September the boat enjoys a few months in East Cowes Marina in Cowes, Isle of Wight for the RORC Series races. Team members comprise Dutch, English, and American sailors. Recent success includes the following:
